School output

Output of schools is very hard to measure.  But we would like some idea of what's been happening at schools over COVID.  Perhaps kids have been getting lessons on the internet: if so how many lessons? Perhaps things have improved if they are less distracted by disruptive pupils in the classroom?

The ultra-innovative Becky Allen at Teacher Tap has been running a series of fascinating surveys.  Here's a very recent one, asking teachers what they did on that day (Tuesday 30th June).

Reembering that private schools are about 9% of the sector, the top row shows the average for online lessons is rather low, (and the gap is clear).  The last two rows also show the low contact in person.

Fascinatingly, we also have data over time, which shows some improvement in internet for the state schools. Hard not to conclude that school output has fallen a lot.

UPDATE: data for July 7th
